Wild New Cup Noodles Flavor Has Us Thinking We've Been Pranked

Is this an early April Fool's Day prank?

Everyone's favorite instant ramen is releasing a new, limited edition flavor, and it's so outrageous we're not fully convinced that it's not an early April Fools' joke

Cup Noodles is debuting its first breakfast offering, blending the flavors of pancakes and maple syrup with sausage and egg into each cup of Cup Noodles Breakfast, which will barely put a dent in your morning routine with just a four-minute preparation time.

It's not the first questionable noodle combo from the brand, which launched Cup Noodles Pumpkin Spice in 2021, but parent company Nissin Foods USA is basically cornering the market with all-day options with the new flavor.

"We know our products are a go-to meal any time of the day," Priscila Stanton, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Nissin Foods USA, said in a press release. "Saucy, soup-based, spicy, sweet or savory, we even added rice to some, so by adding Cup Noodles Breakfast to our line-up we are truly feeding cravings around the clock - morning, noon, night or late night."

In an interview with CNN, Stanton further compared it to a “classic diner breakfast in a cup.”

Neil Saunders, an analyst at GlobalData Retail, defended the bizarre choice to the publication, pointing out, “The wacky mix of ingredients is on brand for Cup Noodle, which often fuses traditional noodles with local flavors that it thinks will be appealing to consumers.”

We'll just have to wait for the live stream taste tests to confirm if they hit the mark on this one!

Cup Noodles Breakfast retails for $1.18 and is available exclusively at Walmart and Walmart.com starting today.
