The 'Dangerous' Girl Scout Cookie-Inspired Treat Costco Shoppers Are Lining Up For

Everyone has their favorite Girl Scout cookie and the debate for which flavor takes the crown can often get pretty heated. Though I enjoy the delicacy that is the Samoas, there’s no denying the joy of purchasing those coveted boxes year after year, regardless of which cookie you prefer,

As we anxiously await the return of cookie season — and work through the last of the boxes stashed in our freezer — retailers like Costco have stepped in to deliver an inspired treat to satisfy our cravings in the meantime.

Girl Scouts of America has continued to surprise and delight cookie fans by partnering with brands to launch new and innovative versions of fan-favorite flavors. From Thin Mint-flavored seasoning to the Skippy P.B. Bites collaboration, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy your favorite flavor any time of the year.

If you’re still reeling from the launch of bulk grocer Costco’s Girl Scout Thin Mint Bites, you might want to hold on to your seat as the chain just added a Samoas-inspired version to its already lengthy roster. Formally named Girl Scout Coconut Caramel Bites, the delicious morsels have caused quite a stir on social media.

The treats, consisting of a crispy center coated in caramel, rich dark chocolate and toasted coconut, are made by Edward Marc — the same genius chocolatier who created the mint chocolate-flavored option. You can purchase a 1-pound bag of the delicacy for just $11.99, and if the response from fans means anything, you might want to act fast before they’re gone.

Super fan Instagram account @costcobuys spread word of the launch and commenters are calling the treat “dangerous.” “These are delicious! 👏” said one person while another agreed, “Oh my… YES PLEASE 😍” While most of the responses from fans were positive, a few shared that they weren’t fans of the snack. “Not good - super salty” said one unimpressed fan. “I wasn’t impressed either,” said another.

Of course, we encourage you to try them for yourself, however, this author will gladly take any leftovers of your hands if you have some.

If you’re in the market for something more savory though, Costco just brought back its fan-favorite ham carving station just in time for the holidays.
