Ana Navarro Accuses Jada Pinkett Smith of Holding Will Smith 'Emotionally Prisoner'

When it comes to other people's relationships, it seems everyone outside of them has an impassioned opinion.

Most recently, we've seen proof of this exact fact with the release of Jada Pinkett Smith's new memoir, Worthy, after the Set It Off star revealed she and husband Will Smith had actually been separated since 2016.

Unfiltered (as well as unwarranted) thoughts poured in over the admittance, which shocked the world. Now, The View cohost Ana Navarro is chiming in on the internet banter, stating that she feels the Girls Trip actress is holding the Bad Boys star "emotionally prisoner."

In a recent chat about "explosive memoirs," the show's group of personalities discussed the "revealing" nature of the tell-all books, also mentioning Britney SpearsThe Woman in Me, in the conversation.

"I'm done with the Jada thing, and I'm done defending Will because Will is out there supporting her," Navarro expressed. "I think Will is being held emotionally prisoner, but you know what? It's their stuff," she said.

"I don't wanna read the book; I don't wanna give them another dime for her emasculating and embarrassing him to everybody in the world," she continued.

Sunny Hostin, on the other hand, explained initially feeling the "same way about the Jada story," but admitted to having a "completely different opinion about her now," after a friend suggested she actually read the book, in its entirety, for herself.

"People think they know you from social media; they think they know you from little clips on YouTube... and a lot of those are taken out of context," she said. "They don't really know you or where you came from," she noted, before urging, "You gotta read the book."

As for The Pursuit of Happyness star, he came out with his own memoir, Will, in 2021. During an interview while promoting the book, Smith said he believes that the openness between him and Jada has allowed for "trust and freedom."

"Marriage, for us, can't be a prison," he said at the time. "And I don't suggest our road for anybody. But the experiences that the freedoms that we've given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love."
