The Viral Vegan Chicken Sandwich That Customers Call 'The Absolute Best' Can Now Be Made At Home

If you weren’t already aware of Pinky Cole and her plant-based fast-food chain, Slutty Vegan, you may have been missing out on some quality eats. Delivering dishes that recently that landed her as one of Time's “2023 Time100 Next," the American restaurateur has experienced loads of success over recent years, as her business has continued to grow exponentially since its humble beginnings in Atlanta, Georgia.

Now 35 years old, Cole’s vision has grown into 11 restaurant locations across the country, which has seen the likes of stars such as Justin Timberlake and Will Ferrell stopping by to see what all of the hype is about. While the successful entrepreneur has pleased fans with the release of select products in stores and a highly-rated cookbook, Cole is now divvying out another special treat for fans: the recipe to her wildly viral chicken sandwich.

In a recent interview with People, the talented chef shares how to make her popular “Chik’N Head” sandwich at home, and the recipe could not look any more delicious and approachable. Cole’s recipe makes 4 sandwiches total and will only cost you a total of 40 minutes for the cook time.

The ingredient list is a bit hefty with plant-based chicken patties and tricolor coleslaw leading the mix, but for those who love a layered chicken sandwich, this will be well worth the time spent creating. Mango, both vegan mayonnaise and vegan butter, hot mustard and a number of seasonings also make up this requested sandwich as well as your regular fixings of lettuce, tomato pickles. 

While the addition of toasted vegan Hawaiian buns may be the star of the show to many, the one "surprise" ingredient that makes this sandwich standout above the rest is actually the inclusion of agave.

Still not convinced that a vegan "chicken" sandwich really has folks going wild? Well, former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal has actually been a fan of the Slutty Vegan brand and all that they offer since as early as 2019.
