Cher Accused of Hiring 4 Men to Kidnap Her Son, According to Court Documents

Marieangela KingCher's daughter-in-law, seems to think the "Believe" singer has been interfering with her marriage.

In new court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the 36-year-old accused the legendary singer and actress, 77, of hiring four men to abduct her own son, King's husband Elijah Blue Allman, in November 2022.

According to the filing, King and Allman, 47—who filed for divorce in 2021—were attempting to reconcile in a Manhattan hotel room when four people entered their room and “removed” Allman.

While King didn't explicitly name Cher as the culprit, she did quote “one of the four men who took” Allman, whom Cher shared with ex-husband Gregg Allman, as saying that “they were hired by petitioner’s—[which is referring to Allman]—mother.”

The documents, which were filed in Dec. 2022, further allege that, at least at the time, Allman was in an unknown-to-King treatment facility for an alleged heroin addiction. She said she was “not allowed to see or speak to” her husband. Still, she assured that she "understand[s] his family’s efforts to make sure he is well" and also "want[s] what is best for my husband.”

But when he first entered rehab in Aug. 2022, King said she "was asked to leave our family home by Petitioner’s mother,” and that she wasn't permitted to collect her belongings or "inventory" their "assets."

She continued, "We also have a storage unit that I have been unable to access which contains art, antiques, all our furniture from our second home that we had together in Beverly Hills and other assets accumulated during the marriage.”

King also claimed that she lost her housing and healthcare as a result of “inconsistent support payments,” forcing her to stay with relatives out of the country and making it "very difficult" to continue pursuit of this case.

Parade has reached out to Cher's representatives for comment, but has not heard back.
