Toby Keith Makes Rare Appearance at Golf Classic Charity

It seems that Toby Keith is "always thinking of others."

The country crooner, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for stomach cancer, showed up to his annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic, to the delight of his loyal fans.

On Instagram, the occasion was documented with a single photo from the event, showcasing the "Red Solo Cup" singer seemingly making an announcement on stage as he held the microphone to his mouth and pointed toward someone nearby.

"A few weeks ago, Toby hosted his annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Tournament and they raised a record-breaking 1.8 million dollars for the @tkfoundation1!" the caption on a snap of him at the function, which was posted to Instagram on June 27, read.

In the comments of the social media upload, followers showed love to the music artist, knowing that he came to support even despite his medical battle.

"What an amazing man. Always thinking of others. Be well and happy. ❤️," one said, while another applauded, "Thanks for all you do, TK! You are looking good!"

A third dropped in with nothing but well wishes for the "American Soldier" singer. "Nice to see you out and about I've been praying for you so hard and every time I pray. Keep getting your strength back and I'm going to continue to pray for you and your family," the fan encouraged, in part.

"Thank you Toby. You do so much for children and the fight against cancer. So glad to see you kicking cancers butt!!!" a fourth appreciated.

During a gala gathering ahead of the tournament—which fittingly benefits kids fighting cancer and their families, and to date, has raised a total of over $18 million—Keith spoke with local outlet The Oklahoman, providing a health update on the status of his progress.

"I'm feeling pretty good," he told the publication. "Basically, everything is in a real positive trend... [but] you never know with cancer, so you have to prepare." He later teased that he hopes to be "out on the road this fall" if he's able to get the energy to perform a full live show, and gets a "little break" from his cancer treatments.
