Jack Nicholson Makes Rare Public Appearance at Lakers Playoff Game

Jack Nicholson made a rare appearance to see his favorite basketball team.

The 86-year-old actor was photographed courtside, watching the Lakers play against the Memphis Grizzles on Friday, April 28. He was accompanied by his son, Ray, and a few of those close to the duo.

It was the first time The Shining star has been seen at a game since October 2021.

The NBA's social media accounts shared footage of Nicholson greeting some of his famous friends. In one clip, Larry David approaches him and shakes his hand. Another video shows LeBron James crouching down to give Nicholson a warm hug post-game.

Though Nicholson is a big Lakers fan, he also shared some love for the opposing team. He was photographed giving a thumbs-up while seated next to Grizzles player Ja Morant's dad, Tee.

Nicholson and David were among the many celebrities in attendance. A video shared by the NBA from the game shows Flea, Adele, and Dr. Dre.

The One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest star recently made headlines after a new, candid photo of him was shared by The Daily Mail. The actor was pictured for the first time since the October 2021 Lakers game, gazing out from the balcony of his Beverly Hills home, wearing a loose-fitting light orange t-shirt and dark-colored sweatpants.

When the photos went viral paired with headlines criticizing the actor's looks, his fans defended him, asking the media to let the actor spend time at home in peace.

Nicholson is rumored to have reclusive tendencies, but hopefully, the Lakers game indicates that the actor is ready to spend more time out and about.
