Brian Cox Singing the Spice Girls Is the ‘Succession’ Crossover You Never Knew You Needed

The actor is anything but a 'wannabe.'

Brian Cox is taking his love for the Spice Girls public.

A video shared to Instagram on Wednesday teased fans with a preview of the 76-year-old Scottish actor's upcoming appearance on the Apple TV+ series Carpool Karaoke, during which Cox performs his own rendition of a popular Spice Girls tune.

In the now-viral clip circulating social media, the Succession star is joined by fellow Scottish actor Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), with the episode's introduction beginning with the two shouting, "Scotland’s in the house!"

As the actors drive around, Cox is asked by the host if he's a fan of the London-born group of pop stars, which includes original members Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Mel C (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice). The award-winning actor then stuns fans with his reply to Cumming—who appeared in the girl group's film Spice World—referring to himself as somewhat of a "closeted Spice Girls fan."

The two share a chuckle before they both break out in song and begin belting the lyrics to the Spice Girls' debut hit from 1996, "Wannabe." In the near-flawless performance, neither Cox nor Cumming missed a beat, impressing fans.

"The Spice Girls portion killed me," writes one fan, "Please make them a trending audio on TikTok! 🤣☠️🤞🏻."

Cox's upcoming feature in Carpool Karaoke: The Series will be available to stream for the first time tomorrow, Mar. 31, exclusively on Apple TV+ and ahead of the second episode of Succession Season 4, airing Sunday night via HBO and streaming on HBO Max.
