New Year's Eve in Times Square is an annual tradition, and revelers were welcomed back to the bright lights and big city to ring in 2022 for the first time since the pandemic—and celebrations are in full swing to do the same for 2023.

Not feeling like partying in-person this year? That's understandable—and there are plenty of TV viewing options you can choose from while you enjoy the festivities from the best seat in the (i.e. your) house! The Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball will begin its descent at 11:59 p.m. Dec. 31, 2022.

Can you watch the ball drop in NYC in person?

If seeing the ball drop in person is on your bucket list, then you're in luck! As of this writing, Times Square New Year's Eve celebrations are back in full swing. More details for safety and security measures will be announced in December 2022.

How to watch the Times Square New Year's Eve ball drop on TV

You don't have to brave the crowds or chilly New York temperatures to watch the ball drop! Aside from Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC and other network specials, there will be a Times Square New Year’s Eve commercial-free webcast. The webcast, which will be streamed live on TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, LiveStream.com/2023 and TimesSquareBall.net, will begin with the Ball Raising at 5:55 p.m. on Dec. 31 and will also include live musical performances, hourly countdowns, behind-the-scenes stories, interviews, and, of course, the Ball Drop itself.

Eighteen-time host Ryan Seacrest will be back again! Seacrest will be joined in Times Square by Liza Koshy and Jessie James Decker, while Tony winner Billy Porter will co-host from New Orleans. Over on the West Coast, Ciara, who is returning for her fifth year, will oversee the party in Disneyland in Anaheim, California; DJ D-Nice will helm the party in Los Angeles. Roselyn Sanchez will also serve as a co-host in Puerto Rico to ring in 2023.

CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live

Saturday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.-1:30 a.m. ET on CNN

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are coming back! The duo will be live from Times Square. That said, Variety reports that after Cohen became a meme last year for being beyond three sheets to the wind, this year's celebrations will be a bit less boozy.

The show will include performances from Usher, Ava Max, Patti LaBelle, REO Speedwagon, Jenifer Lewis and Ellie Goulding, as well as appearances from Kevin Hart, John Stamos, Nick Cannon, Jean SmartTenacious D's Jack Black and Kyle Gass and Cheri Oteri.

The entertainment special will be co-hosted by Jimmie Allen, Elle King and Entertainment Tonight's Rachel Smith.

It will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ Premium and will feature a slew of country music A-lister performers, including Brooks & Dunn, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Zac Brown Band.

“When I got the call to host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, I was super excited and started looking forward to it right then,” Grammy nominee Allen said in a statement. “I was part of the show last year as a performer, so being able to co-host it this year with Elle King & Rachel Smith and see all the great performances that are lined up—it’s going to be awesome. Hosting is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and to do it on CBS is a big deal. I get to represent not only Nashville and country music but my home state of Delaware—primetime television on New Year’s Eve! Let’s bring this new year in right!”

King added in a statement, "New Year’s Eve has always been one of my favorite nights to celebrate because we get to reflect on the year we’ve had while getting a fresh start. Nashville has been so amazing and welcoming to me this year and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. I am so excited to be hosting the festivities live from Music City!”

“This hometown gal is thrilled to be back for round two of Nashville’s Big Bash,” said Smith quipped. “Hanging with my talented country friends in Music City on New Year’s Eve is the ultimate way to kick off the New Year!”

Miley Cyrus will be joined by her very own godmother Dolly Parton to ring in 2023 on NBC and Peacock. We'd say that's a pretty amazing replacement for last year's Pete Davidson!

FOX's All-American New Year

Fox News will have numerous personalities on hand for FOX's All-American New Year starting at 10:30 p.m. ET. Fox & Friends Weekends hosts Rachel Campos-Duffy, Will Cain and Pete Hegseth live in Nashville, Tennessee. Comedian and Fox Radio personality Jimmy Failla will perform, as well as country star Brantley Gilbert.
