Nick Cannon Praises 5-Year-Old 'Genius' Son on First Day of Second Grade

It's back-to-school time for the comedian's son!

Nick Cannon was a proud dad ahead of his son's first day of school!

Cannon celebrated a huge milestone as his 5-year-old son took on second grade. In an Instagram post, The Masked Singer host shared a photo of Golden posing before the big day on Aug. 29.

Golden can be seen sporting a royal blue long sleeve polo with khakis and a backpack that looks almost too big for his body. He held up a a sign that read, "First day of second grade," along with some facts about his first day, including "it's Monday, August 29" and "My teacher's name is Ms. C." The sign also revealed his age and that he wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

"Yesterday was the first day of 2ND GRADE for MR. GOLDEN CANNON!! (And he’s only 5 years old!!!) Congratulations Champ!!" Cannon wrote in the caption.

The emphasis on his age is necessary as children in second grade are typically 7 or 8 years old, per Today.

"I can’t take none of the credit though! He gets his genius from his Mamma! @missbbell πŸ™πŸΎ❤️," Cannon jokingly concluded.

A third user even pointed out how much the father-son duo look alike, writing, "Wow, he’s your twin πŸ’™"

Cannon shares Golden with journalist, Brittany Bell, along with a soon-to-be two-year-old daughter, Powerful Queen. On Aug. 24, the pair also announced that they will be welcoming another bundle of joy to the mix. It will be Cannon's third child with Bell and ninth overall.

In addition to the children he shares with Bell, Cannon is also a father to five children between three women—Abby De La Rosa, Bre Tiesi and Mariah Carey

With fatherhood and professional projects on his radar, Cannon keeps his schedule pretty busy these days.

Don't miss the new season of his reality singing competition is set to air on Sept. 21 on Fox!
