How to Score $3 Movie Theater Tickets for 'National Cinema Day'

Find out how to score this fantastic deal!

Major theater chains are giving movie-goers a chance to score $3 movie tickets for one day only!

National Cinema Day is a brand new country-wide event, and it's quickly approaching. During the event, a majority of American theaters are offering up tickets for as low as $3 (not including taxes or fees) in an effort to get the industry back to its pre-pandemic state of success.

The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners, announced that September 3 will be a nationwide discount day for movie lovers across the United States. No matter what time of day, or the film format, fans can score this amazing deal!

Over 3,000 theaters with more than 30,000 screens are expected to participate in all of the fun, which also includes major chains like AMC and Regal Cinemas, along with major film studios.

"After this summer's record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing," The Cinema Foundation's president, Jackie Brenneman, said in a press release. "We're doing it by offering a 'thank you' to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven't made it back yet."

This special offer for National Cinema Day comes after the coronavirus pandemic where officials closed down theaters in an effort to try and slow the spread of the virus. Many major theater brands started to collapse, including the British company Cineworld, which owns Regal Cinemas.

Last week, Cineworld reported that the company is considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States to help with debt due to low box office sales and empty seats in theaters.

Although the movie theater industry has yet to climb back to its 2019 sales, the subscription service Movie Pass is making a comeback with a new beta service expected to re-launch on September 5—just two days after National Cinema Day.

Don't miss out on this fantastic deal and make sure you score those $3 movie tickets! Heck, you could even go see multiple movies that day if you really wanted to.
